So I am in college now, I talked to another fellow j-body fenatic (he owns like 4). Anyway he tells me about the the comp out of a 2.3L sunbird engine works in the cavaliers and sunfires and adds some more pony power. I am really thinking into this. Now has anyone had any experience with this or is this total BS? If it works how much of an increase is it?

there's a 2.3l in a sunbird? i thought they had the 2.0l SOHC and the 2.0l TURBO SOHC
either way imma say no...
the sunbird is a Second Generation J Body and ODB I or ODB 0
you have an 01 ... which is third gen and ODB II
The Sunbird 2.0 and the Second Gen Cavalier 2.0 were two completely different motors... Chevy optioned the OHV Push rod motor, while Oldsmobile, Buick, and Pontiac optioned the SOHC Motor
Later Chevy reworked its 2.0 and made the 2.2 out of it. from the outside they look nearly identical (90 2.0 and 91 2.2 in cavaliers)
EDIT: there is a 2.3l in a SunFIRE ... but only in 1995... and i still wanna say no to the computer swap

Yeah I have been doing a lot of asking around. There is no chip for the 3rd gen but oh well. It was worth a shot, thanks for the info.

the 1995 is a 3rd gen and WILL take chips...now, ive HEARD you can rewire it into a later model and it still work fine but only SEEN it installed on Js that have a quad swap
95 = sunfire not sunbird
i dont think you can swap that ECM to a 2.2
yea i missed that part sorry...i dont think so either
