has any one ever put a brand new neon motor like the turboed one into a cavalier. I just thing that would be a pretty cool swap but i dont know if the motor and trans will fit

i mean cause isnt it basicaly the same engine cause my cavy has the 2.4 and the neon srt-4 has a 2.4 turboed engine. so i mean it should fit

It is not Basically the same motor. The neon motor is physically larger, also a new sub frame, custom axles, and there are some firewall issues. Also tranny mounts & motor mounts. To get the axles to line up with the cavalier would be a pain in the ass. Also the whole thing about getting the motor running. "A stand alone, yes." Just swap in a 2.2 ecotec motor and turbo or supercharge it, or build your LD9. Either would be TONS cheaper than TRYING to get a 2.4 SRT motor in your cav.

Anything can be done with time and money. In my opinion it is not even close to worth it.
You can do it, its just going to take a LOT of money, and time.
Hell a 350 small block Chevy probably would require the same about of work.
PRND321 Till I DIE
Old Motor: 160whp & 152ft/lbs, 1/4 Mile 15.4 @88.2
M45 + LD9 + 4T40-E, GO GO GO
ok thanx i just wanted some opinions
13.1 @ 115
Yeah like he said they are NOT the same, just because two motors share a common displacement rating they can still share nothing at all, like the neon and cavalier motors: different designs, different parts, different everything.
That being said, anything is possible, perhaps just not very logical.
