i was wandering what everyone generally has on a 2200 i have 2.5 and was thinkin that was too big and not enough backpressure ....
p.s i have no catalytic
2 1/2" is too big for these motors, unless you have a radically built motor or a race motor. 2 1/4" is just right for a street diven 2.2L/2200.
BTW, It's not back pressure you want, but the correct velocity for your application. Read
Exhaust theory and design, from the FAQ Library, for more information.
ya your looking for volumetric efficiency here. there used to be alot of posts about it maybe a year ago. there was a whole shpleel about it. there's a formula for it, i'd search for it if your real interested in it.
that makes alot of sense now that i think about it thanks for the link now im off to the muffler shop to get that 2.25 lol
oh yah one more thing how much hp am i loosing by having 2.5 versus the 2.25 im sure its not a tremendous amount just curious as to how much you think
probably not a whole lot, maybe 1-2hp loss, a full exhaust will only give you like 5 hp, lmao.
