How can I get faster revs out of my 2200 Cavalier motor, I did some research this time and found nothing on it. I know a lightened flywheel would help but I have an auto with a flexplate and a torqur converter so I' lost
Lightened pullies, Crank, and what ever else you can lighten will help.
Do they make lightened pullies for the 2200 cavalier because I haven't found any when I've searched in the past. 2200's can't use underdrive pullies because the water pump is run off one the pullies or some @!#$ and it off course causes overheating because off a lack of cooling.
the only place I've seen pullies for the 2200 was RSM........ But lighter/under drive pullies, light weight flywheel, balance the bottom end, knife edge crank, crank scraper........ that will all help it rev faster....

snoop said it...concentrate on your valvetrain if you want your car to outperform...what do you think they do in grand touring cars that rev past 12000 rpm! hehe. But its definetly your cam that does the trick

more power usually makes the engine rev faster....
lightweight stuff helps, but ur spinnin a slushbox convertor, so you're pretty much stuck
increase the HP number, and it'll climb revs faster, trust me
asp has underdrive pullies for the 2200. havent baught them but I have used alot of asp products on other cars and though they are not fancy aluminum you won't be dissapointed. and the only time I have ever seen overheating problems with an ud pulley is when you try to use a race pulley on a street car.
you can also do all the fancy balancing, crancscraper stuff and I am not going to say it won't work. but for the $$$ you will spend to do that you aree better off just bolting up a turbo and calling it a day. for $$$ spent you'll just go faster with less work on a turbo and save the fancy bluprinting stuff for later

thx a lot guys I'm kinda steered into the direction of a turbo or nitrous a direction i never thought i'd go in but im convinced.
