Tomorrow my refund will be in my bank account, and I'm finally going to start doing some fun stuff to my car. I want to start with exhaust and suspension. Heres what I've decided on for my exhaust:
Pacesetter 4-1 Armor-Coated header
2.25" in/out Magnaflow catalytic converter 94035
2.25" in/out 31" Dynomax Magnum Glass pack Muffler 24205 or 24211
2.25" in/out Magnaflow Single Outlet, 5"x8"x18"Oval 14255 or 14245
Exhaust Tip Magnaflow 35127
The last numbers are the part numbers if you want to check them out. I'm going to do from the Cat back first, and then put the header on. I don't want anything too loud, I've seen posts about trying to make the exhaust sound like a Z or Sti, and thats what I'm shooting for. If anyone has a similar setup, let me know how it sounds. If you have any input at all about this setup, if something should be changed to reach my goal, let me know.
You'll love the glasspack. I put one on my stock 04 Cavie, and it rumbles. It's not extremely loud, but with Pacesetters and a new cat, it'll wake the neighbors up in the morning I'm sure.
You're not going to make your car sound like another car, especially cars that are
1. STi is turbocharged and is a boxer motor
2. 350 Z is a 6 cylinder motor
Best you can do is make it sound as deep as possible with resonators and a good exhaust setup.

ah i get it now...when he said Z i thought he ment Z24...im here thinking "why he h#@$ would he try to make it sound like a z24 when it pretty much already does"

haha yeah, that was my initial thought but then I thought "that makes no sense" immediately afterwards. Also I thought that 350 Zs stock sound freakin dope, like a baby growl lol

I didn't mean exactly like it
Just that I don't want it to be so loud that it gets annoying. I just used those cars as examples, as in not really loud, but louder than stock.

I knew what you meant buddy
Just make sure you use a good exhaust setup. My suggestion is 2 1/4" piping, a coated pacesetter header, magnaflow catalytic converter to keep the 2 1/4" exhaust flow, Magnaflow muffler & a resonator/glasspack to keep the exhaust tone down.
