what if i paint my headers every day with high heat exhaust caramic paint? would i get enough ceramic coating to be comparable to a real ceramic coat?
ceramic coat,
A) does not come in a spray paint can
and
B) is baked in an industrial oven to cure.

It will never be comparable to a real ceramic coat. A true ceramic coating is baked on like a powder coat.

you only have one header

LOL every day. I have painted my pacesetter header like 5 times with that 1200 degree "ceramic" paint and it still burns right off after like 5 mins of running. Go to a speed shop they should be able to send if off to be ceramic coated for like 120$

just buy the header already coated if you want the coating.

Buy a coated header, it's not much more.
painting the header every day , will end up costing you about the same as buying the coated header
and the coated will look better
no paint build up , LOL
this is true. you'll pay more to coat a header than buying it pre-coated.

Just buy the real coated one in the first place.

i was just asking because the question was bothering me. I dont have a header for my car i still have the stock exhaust manifold. However, i do have "HEADER----->S<-----" for my truck. the reason i didn't put it on my profile is because i'm a lazy ass. i dont even have a sig... i want one though. thats why i asked the question here because i dont want to ask a question like that in a parts store or ask a professional mechanic. you understand?
interesting.... but kinda funny....
for some reason what you just said does not justify your question...
whacha tryin to say, its ok to ask a question like that here, but not a profesional?
what about those people here that ARE profesional mechanics, wouldn't that insult their intelegence?...
my two cents on that note!

1) it would get expensive.
2) you;d never coat the inside which is where ceramic COATING goes as well
3) after time it would thicken up and flake off, making it pointless.
4) being cheap would def show and smell, and all would know.
sorry to bring this up from the dead, but have u guys seen the spray paint thats designed for headers? i saw it on autozone and its made by VHT. would this work? i would think it would since thats what its made for.
sorry its not greenwood but eastwood!
ceramic coating > paint
