It is an intake manifold that came on the 2.3L quad 4 HO motor. People mod it (using that guide or other guides) to make it fit on the 2.4L Twin Cam.

URweak's guide is very very good. it helped me do mine when I went and did it a while ago. it's pretty rock solid and explains most everything fairly well.
