Built 2200 hp gains???
Friday, October 07, 2005 8:15 AM
well guess im goin to get started on my 2200 build this winter and was just wondering what kind of gains i can expect to see. im planning first a pnp on the head. then from there a exhaust system with a new ceramic header. just a few things ive got planned plus some new motor mounts. im hoping to have at least more than 150+ so i can stand a chance against some z24's around here. well thanks guys.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Talk with the Skwirl (PJ) He went thru that... He is the second fastest NA on here, he posts quite often as well.

I would like to think you could beat a 2.4 with all that.

The head is where the LN2 makes a good deal of its power.

I know squirl (sp) will be more than happy to help you, atleast he was for me. Just go to his registry and look up his aim screen name and just start talking with him. Bring up the fact that you hate eco's and twin cams ... That should get you in the hot seat with him Good luck dude!!

Actually PJ has a great amount of respect for the ECOs...in our car club we have a Turbo ECO and all motor ecos running 15.4s and 1 on it's way to a 14.9 with a few bolt ons and PJ is there to congratulate them on their achievements.

Shaun, get in contact with PJ and he'll help you out...he's a great guy, a fellow car club member and a great friend.

i'm still trying to figure out the mindset of

"i have a car thats mine, so i am gonna sell it JUST to get 35more HP, a higher insurance rate, and more payments tacked onto my cash flow...."

when you can simply just mod what you have as surpass the 35 hp difference and still be lighter with less rotating mass in an engine

It's because most people on this site are too lazy to put any real work into achieving decent goals, so they want to take the 'easy' way out.

PJ isn't 2nd fastest JOO BASTARDSSSSSS

But he does love to talk(post) more than me or whoever the guy is that's #1...

PhlatCav has more going than me, PJ has more mods than me, a-lot of people do, most of them either haven't installed everything yet, or just haven't laid down that good time yet. Crazy girl on the phone right now though, I'll keep tabs on this post!

Jamal:
Well I meant NA. I guess your car could still be ran that way...

PhlatCav:
Love your Sig..
Are you going to give up the type-j for the import fighter?

Main reason I got my cavy was insurance. A Z was going to kill me on insurance.
I don't guess there would have been that much difference for the eco since it is a standard motor in the newer J's..

But I love my 2200...

When I speak of that non-sense I'm referring to this post!

http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.php?f=48&i=9399&t=9399

And N/A my time was a tad faster than PJ's time, but seattle's atomosphere is golden for drag racing around 6-7pm! No Humidity, sticky track, 70degree temps! Motor loved it, especially with all the interior out haha! PJ layed down his time with full interior just to give you an idea of where's he's at.

So in all reality PJ's car is faster BUT I"M COMING

Love that bumper, Before the bodykit I thought about doing a headlight swap just to have it. Did you see a significant increase in power with the headwork?

Jamal:
What rim/tire did you use?

Hope to get the My J Back on the bottle and get some times this weekend or next..

i'm a 2.2 OHV guy myself. well, 2200 is better and that's my current project. i'm building one for boost (lots of it) and I won't have it any other way. I'm a pushrod guy and no matter what anyone tells me, I'm not doing an LD9.

I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.

Kept my 17's up front and had spares(little donuts) on the rear. It was a ghetto run but I wanted to do the most extreme weight reduction I could pull off without ruining the car just for those two passes.
