it says the S dictates that it is the newer design with the 7mm valve stems.

for a 96 you may want to look for similar valve stem diameters, but I dont know how 'vital' it is

you will probably need the same head, with the 7mm valve stems, otherwise your valves will be incorrect

I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.

ok i got a other question can i switch the valves from 8mm to 7mm since i already got the full head gasket set for my 96 head and also i think the head im switching it from is a 92 or 93 that haves a 8mm valve springs on it and also the head haves been replained and the valves been reseated and I just want to know if this swap will work from a 8mm to a 7mm?

The head are identical except for the valve stem diameter. One have a 7mm stem (and guide) and the other have a 8mm stem (and guide). You can't switch the valves from a head to another (the 7mm stem will be loose in a 8mm guide).

You can use the gasket set with the older head with no problem (I guess).

For HI RPM application, the 7mm stem are a plus.
Less moving mass = better valvetrain stability (less valvefloat or at higher RPM).

so I can use the 8mm head on my car right? and now can i still use my gasket set that I bought for my 96 on the old head? and just buy the 8mm valve stems for it bc my kit for my 96 had the 7mm valve stem in it.

its not a 2.4 motor its a 2.2 motor and im asking about the head from a 92 or a 93 with a 8mm valve stem will work on my 96 sunfire motor with the 2.2 7mm valve stem

If the heads are interchangeable and the only difference is the size of the valve stem then you should be able to use it.... PROVIDED that the heads are truely interchangable and you use the right valves for the right head.... meaning as was said before you dont want to stick the 7mm valves in the one that is set up for 8mm valves.... otherwise they will be too lose and create issues for you.... I am thinking that you may also need the header and intake manifold and throttle body for the other head if the porting for them is different....

well me and my dad double checked that header and intake and throttle body is the same on the 96 head.

Multiple people have told you it will work. Why do you keep asking if it will or not?

2.2 history article wrote:What really matters, though, is that the 10112391S is not a special head for certain applications as some rebuilders have believed. It actually fits all of the 1992-’97 FWD cars plus all of the 1994-’97 RWD applications, as long as the two diagonal holes are drilled in front of the head for the water outlet housing used on the RWD trucks.

The valves are exactly the same except the diameter. The article has all the information you need.
