Ok so i installed the tb today...first off check engine light...2nd...it starts up ok...then when i start to back up and then put it in first the idle goes berserk...1500-2000-1500-2000. thinking vaccuum lines...i got a T connector and used it around the SMALLER line...is this correct or no? Any help is appreciated. thanks.
I bet you that the plate on the butterfly is too small...if you put your stock one back on and run your car runs fine, you know that is the problem. Usually when the plate is not the right size or if there are gaps in between the plate and the wall of the throttle body, unsteady revs is the result.

this is all i did, and dont have any probs....
you have a leak somewhere, maybe on one of the sensors...
which vaccuum line did you use the T connector on?
nevermind i see u welded another brass pipe there...damnit
what i don't understand is you said it's for auto's...mine is manual and i have the 3 vaccuum lines
well i know for autos one runs to the transmission itself... measures vaccum...
but all i did was drill a hole and jb welded it... its welded as opposed to tig type...or mig... but did you remove any of the sensors from it?
usually when its pulsing, its the IAC sensor... the fatty on the back... if its that one, try using your old one... not sure if you got a faulty new one or what...
i used my stock sensors...also did your tb have a black thing coming off of it with 2 around 1/3in holes?
on the back, or the side?
you;re not talkin about the tps sensor right?
no...i don't remember if it was on back or side...it came off like 2 inches and has 2 holes in it that looked like they let towards the openings inside the tb...if you could im me on aim it'd prob be easier...grillrd is the name on there too
let the battery unplugged for the night...no CEL now...so far knock on wood. drove it around a bit and gave her some gas...nice response...but the idle is still off...so i'll get to the vaccuum lines in a bit
drove for about 20 mins...CEL came on...got it scanned....507 Idle control system rpm high...so i'm guessing just turn down the idle and i'll be good? any other suggestions?
if its still pulsing, then even if you adjust the idle screw, it may still pulse....
if its not pulsing, then see if you can adjust the idle screw... on some its harder than others....
i reset the code last night and it stopped pulsing...so now it's just high idle...i'll try that in a bit...thanks for the continued help
notta prob brah
also the idle screw, it takes a funny torx bit on some... some are a security torx bit...
can not find the idle screw anywhere
check where the arm touched the TB or better yet, when you open the TB by hand, look and see whats stopping it when it closes shut... it should be on the underside...
whatever is the stopper, thats the screw you have to adjust
If you want to know if you have a leak, just spray intake cleaner on the throttle body and on your vacuum lines, if the engine react, you have a leak, if not, look for something else.
Good luck!
