opinions on future options please!

so i realize my car is slow. i hate automatics. i figure with all the mods i have done so far my car should be a 15 second car... but it is in the high 16 second range i just know it. based on cars i've raced etc etc. i have 152k on the bottom end, 40k on the new head, it's been ported and had the 1.6 comp cams rockers done about 2k miles ago. i keep everything in adjustment. feel free to examine my profile to see my entire mods list. at this point i don't know what to do. i'm sick of this car being so damn slow for all i have put into it. what i want to do:

OPTION A:
5spd swap
JBP stage 2 cam
have block machined, decked
mayyybe higher compression

OPTION B:
5spd swap
JBP FI cams
boost project (TURBO OR SUPERCHARGE?)
block machined
forged internals

i've come to the conclusion that my motor is starting to get worn out, my drivetrain sucks, and my cam is going flat. and i've got too much into this car to get rid of it now. your opinions would be GREATLY appreciated. thanks.

Option B will be more expensive, but will net a very big gain over an N/A motor.

Option A will not net that big of a gain(more like a return of lost power), but will be much cheaper. A set of '98+ Hyperutectic stock replacement pisons will yeild a significant gain in compression, at a relativly inexpensive price. Definitly check the piston to valve clearance here.

With the mods you have and plan on(A or B) read Event's thread on his tranny(http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.php?f=41&i=1893&t=1893&arch=1#1893) if you haven't already. This set up will wake up the performance on the 3sp.

Like said, biggest gains would be from option B. Have you ever considered doing a motor swap to an ecotec? I think the problem with the 2.2 OHV is that it's EXTREMELY hard to get alot of power out of it. It doesn't match up to the potential of an 2.4L or 2.2 ECO. I think if you did a motor & tranny swap you would be extremely satisfied. Its much easier and satisfying to work with a motor that has more potential in my opinion.

What you do after a swap is up to you. That's my opinion. Good luck with what you do.

if i was going to swap i would perform the swap i have been planning on for the last month or so... @!#$ i was just getting ready to buy the motor too. but i don't have the space and i can't do the fabrication by myself. and i'm really sick of auto transmissions. i like having more gearing. at this point i'm really thinking about option b.
