has anyone used one??
i found this in the gm faq..
----------------------------------
2.5.2) What muffler brand is best?
----------------------------------
Again, dyno testing has shown that Imco mufflers provide a superior
torque curve, even to those of the Flowmaster and Dynomax Super Turbo.
The full dyno test results are available on

ya it could but for a v8 though not a 4 cylc prolly 15-20 hp max...but thats for a full cat back...but i dont really know what would give you the best performance ...i kinda thought most performance mufflers were about the same n e ways.....i got magnaflow street series on mine they are pretty decent ,great sound too. Cant really tell you the performance on just the mufflers cuz i got the whole exhaust done at once(header back)and its way powerfull then b4, but from what i heard they get noticable gains from the magnaflow as goes for n e other mufflers......but i guess u might have to dyno it to see whats best. But it seems like that IMCO is good too .....your choice
i cant punch hard enuf,i cant kick high enuf,i cant shoot straight enuf,i cant die dead enuf!

hmm so no one has used these mufflers before on a j (thats here anyways)...
thats a HUGE gain from just a muffler they prob did catback not just muffler the other dyno sheets on there were no where near that gain...
anyone else?

I would think that the Apexi N-1 or the HKS Hi-Power would be the way to free up the most backpressure. From what I understand, they are straight-through race design, and provide excellent flow. The Apexi one runs for about 165 and the HKS is slightly more. Either would be fine. I have a magnaflow on my cav, but by N-1 was great on my neon. For some real bucks the RS*R on my elcipse was great too.
I'll have a sig someday....................
any sound clips on a 4cylinder?
see ya!
Your better off sticking with a company that has been more 4 cylinder oriented like how Magnaflow & Borla have been in the recent years. I have been around and shopped around for parts and never heard of "Imco" so I highly doubt that those mufflers would be the BEST for your 4 cylinder motor. Like someone said before, maybe it's 8 cylinder oriented.
Apexi & HKS are great companies but I personally wouldn't want a canister muffler.
