Is there any wiring diagrams that show how to hook an msd on a 2200?? I am mainly concered with the ignition coil wires. Do I have to hook into the cam sensor at all, or does it get the signal from the coil trigger?? According to the instructions I have to use a cam sync to id cylinder one.
This is for the programmable ignition part number 6212, and I have a 98 2200 engine. And I will be using the coil adapters for wiring.

You shouldnt need the cam sync stuff.
Try to do a search for the user name "Event". He post a wiring diagram for hooking up the coil adapters to the MSD harness. I just wired mine on my 99 2200 last week, but I think some wiring is messed up. The car idles with the programmable MSD hooked up, but the LED light on the box flashes.

Yeah mine does the same thing Adler. I have no clue why it does that so either both of our wirein is screwed up or thats how the led works but i would like to know why it idles so badly.
I'm so glad I don't have to deal with that DIS box!

Well i looked and if flashes 2 times thats the cam sync error.
Do not worry about the cam sync error. I talked with a tech from MSD, and he said that it flashes because the cam sync is not in use.

HMM your right. But another place tells me its a voltage error??? So i dont know.I might just try buying another one and seein if it works, I dont know tho because this one is new...what woud you sugest???

one is a reprogrammer
one is an ignition amplifier, with a few advance retardation controls.

I would suggest calling MSD before you spend anymore money. Like I said earlier, they told me that the "cam sync" error shows up when you are not using the cam sync sensor. What error shows up on the laptop?

I've been using my dis 2 for about a year now without any problems. And it always has that flash to it. Adler is correct, it because we don't need the cam sync stuff. When I made my first post I didn't have the dis 2 installed yet. If you follow events great instructions and use the adapters for the wiring at the coil packs you won't have a problem.
Nick you stated that your getting the flashing led also, are you having any other problems besides the led?? I mean does everything work, does your car run??
............super 60 on its way
Well it runs but idles very badly like its not getting enough power and burning all the gas. And i tried everything from runnin it directly to the battery ect. But when i pull the trigger wires(green or white) off the coil modules and touch it to a ground the coils fire like crazy. So its obviously gettin alot of voltage. So i gont know what to do next. Like i said in a previous post the wires were cut and extended when i got it. So is there a place where i can buy a new 12 pin harness??? Thx ~Nick~
Have you tried the bypass adapter to run off the stock ignition?? I myself have cut and extended the wires without a problem. I called summit and had them get ahold of msd to get another 12 pin, they wanted almost $80. So I just used some trailer wire (I think 14 gauge) And that works without a problem. So I think you either have something messed up with the wiring, a bad msd part, or something is scrwed up with your stock ignition.

yeah i know what u mean. how would the bypass plug work? what would i be bypassing? doesnt it take place of the dis box? if so how would that work? thanks...
