I have ecotec with pacesetter header and stock exhaust. When I get on the gas hard, there is a smell that someone said is my cat "burning up". Is it possible that with the header the stock cat can't handle the exhaust flow? I am probably redoing everything from the header back very soon (like this weekend) but I am curious if this is probably what is going on or if this is just totally normal? Thanks in advance!

Don't know if rotten eggs is quite right. They smell really bad! Maybe more like someone justed broke one loose... needless to say it goes away quickly but is there every time I floor it. But maybe like slightly rotten eggs? Smells are not meant to be put into words I guess.

How long have you had the header on for? When i first put the RK sport header on my car and had it attached to the stock exhaust, it smelt like burning rubber and smoked for a while until all the grease on the header burned off... but now it doesn't smell any more and i put it on this past sat. (March 26th)
The header has been on since december or so, but it really hasn't done it until about idk two weeks ago maybe three? It did not do it until long after the header was already on so it is probably not the same problem you had. Oh well, guess I might not figure this out but it is no big deal

mine smelled right after i installed my header because of the antiseize burning off

it's the header. i have a pacetter 2.5 inch cat back and it smelled for a good month after installation. just break in and the smell will go away after a while. it will come back though if you get anymore pacetter exhaust components.
my exhaust smelled a litle bit when i had it done. but it went away within a couple days
