I was just wondering if anybody out there has ordered the Ebay Ecotec Intake from OMZracing. and if so what do you have 2 say about it, in terms of hood clearance and fit and just everything like that
if it ain't broke...MAKE IT GO FASTER
I just installed mine and would have to advise against it. It fits fine, except for you have to zip tie the clutch fluid resivour. Two problems I noticed: the piping connects to the air hat(so you still have the restrictive box thats ontop of your throttle body) second the pipings girth is actually 1 inch smaller than the stock plastic intake piping. I have not driven the car yet so I can not tell you how sound, performance is, but I doubt I will get any gains from it.
I have been facing the same dilema, I could pay 80 bucks for some POS off ebay or pay 190 for well built one which might perform a little bit better. Everyone says they have the "best" Im probabally just going to go with the K&N short ram, I want a all aluminum pipe and not something thats half plastic, etc.
i will be doing the k&n as well, it's supposed to come with a new resivour relocation bracket.. And whats better then a K&N??
I put a cone filter on the end of the stock tube till summer. works pretty well in the meantime. I relocated my resivour to the shock tower. Make sure you keep it upright without any kinks in the line.

I know i should stop tooting the K&N horn, but the K&N typhoon intake is a great piece, it has super detailed instructions, a clutch fluid bracket, everything you need for a smooth install, all hoses and stuff the right lenght, absoluteley everything you need.............the only gripe is that the hose clamps are almost too small and use an allen head to tighten, you may wish to use your stock hose clamps on it
