I made another strut tower brace this weekend and took some pics this time. tell me what you think.
hey jackass why aren't you on AIM
The connecting rods look thin and flimsy. What are they made of? Think of how much torque is needed to knock the front out of square and do you think that thin piece of metal is strong enough to prevent that?
Is that a...a...a... a Cavalier?
I have no idea what your taking about^^^^ But the ends are made out of 1/4 inch steel, which is way thicker than any strut tower brace you can find. The bar is 1/2 round steel that is very strong, and more than enough strengh for this job.
dude most premade bars you can flex by hand, I'm sure a 1/2 think piece of steel tube will work just as good if not better
Tubing is much stronger than solid bar. I think he is using 1/2 bar stock. Ken, make one out of like 3/4 steel tubing. It will be MUCH stronger.
Well I have had mine on my car for about 2 years with no prolbems. And I feel a noticeable differance in handling.
yo ken whats the scoop on the strut bar can u do it and go on aim dawg
^^^^^ Yea I came up with a good idea for it ^^^^^^^ I have been really busy with work, I will see if I can get it done tonight some time. then I will get back to you.
HEY do I get a warranty? LOL
The strut towers are pushing into the ends of the bar. It isn't necessary to have some big thick ass bar.

ok ken just see what u can do thanks man
See if you can make a design for a sib frame brace.
Econo RK/custom style, or preferably like High Rev's 'K' brace design.

Post a pic of it and I can probably come up with something!!
So whats the news ken did u figure out what ur gonna do
Create some bolt holes and a plate in the middle of the front bar so you can attach the firewall to the bar... this further helps reduce chassis flex. I drive an Alero, which is an N-Body and is structurally stiffer than the J-Body to begin with, and I noticed a big difference in car control near the cars' limits.
i'm also an alero driver....and it's a very good idea have the bar connect to the firewall. whats the point in attaching a flimsy strut tower to another flimsy strut tower?? brace it in the middle to something solid..like the firewall. you'll notice a big difference.
