Hey guys I have a question.
What the heel is wrong with the Transmission if the car was driving fine and I got home parked the car and all of the sudden the transmission is locked on first gear. I can't put reverse in to back the car out the lot or any other gear for that matter. Car's juts stock on 1st gear.

It's the 97' Sunfire 2.4L if anybody has a clue on what it might have. If anybody can give me a clue on what to do I'd appreciatte it. I know this should have happened to somebody at some point. Or am I the only one? prolly am!

check the cables for the shifter, that was what it was on mine, a 12 dollar fix and ready to go

Are you talking about the forks? both wires going from the tranny to the shifter booth? If that's the case I did but couldn't get them to move. I just checked that nothing was stuck inside.

How do you know if that's what it is?

well do you have clutch pedal? Will it move if the car is off?

If the car is off it will not move. I can turn on the car but if I let go of the clutch the car will move forward. But only one gear. Can't get it to shift to any other gear after that.
