I still have my stock Goodyear RSA's with 7k on them. My wife says I can get summer tires for it (I have dedicated winter tires) but only after they wear out. My question is, with aggresive driving(I'm doing my best to wear them out fast) about how long should they last? I just want an idea how long this is going to take, i hate those tires with a passion!
Same question goes for the stock rotors and pads. with heavy braking, how long could they possibly last? i hope these wear out real soon. as long as they need replacing, she doesn't mind me upgrading them.
I know, that's not the best way to go about it, but i can't get tires/brakes if there isn't something wrong with them. Thanks in advance

So say you ran over something....like a board with a nail....a few nails ....in it...
you shouldn't drive on tires that have more than 3 plugs in them....
Winter tires wear out really fast in the summer...the rubber is way too soft to take the heat so they pretty much melt. I drove around last summer with winters on and i got like 10k km outta them...on the front that is.
Just tell her that a mechanic said that its dangerous to do highway speeds for an extended time with winter tires on in the summer time....in any case...IT IS...depending on the temps you guys see.
breaks...that is another story....they can last 50k km or they can last 5000...depends on the type of pad thats on there...
My original breaks lasted me 16k km...but they has a defect and they put new ones on under warranty (04 Cavy) and I need new ones now....but I got 35k outta these.
I'm lost. I thought he was running stock RS/A's not snow tires. I replaced my RS/A's at about 75000 km. They were still technically safe, but I didn't trust them for winter. I bought a used set with very little wear from a wrecker and I have put 25000 km on them. The set I bought were wider than the originals (225/50 R16). They hold the road better on dry pavement so I drive a little harder than I did before. However, they still look like I'll get another 50K out of them. They have been good tires for me. They aren't the best ones out there, but they are a decent tire - IMO. I expect I'll try something else next time, but $200 balanced and installed was too good a deal to pass up.
you can take all the parts off you want to upgrade mail them to me free of charge and tell your wife your car got stolen and went to a chop shop, fortunatly for you though they only took the parts you wanted to upgrade! that way i save money you get your upgrades and your wife wont complain.... well atleast about that, if she's anything like my wife she complains more than she breathes..... gotta love women
^^ how do u get away with that sig so damn long..lol
it's all about the beauty in the picture.... it's ok to be jelouse, she aint running well no more lol.... but she looks hot as hell
I am at 37,000 miles on the stock RS-A's and brakes all around. I know another guy that says his RS-A's are shot at 20,000.
I believe my tires will be fine this spring and summer, but like Wayne Beaton, I'm not sure I would be able to trust them next winter (shouldn't be an issue for me, though, because I have a Ram I drive when the snow flies, even though I drive the Cavalier through winter when the roads are clear).

my rsa's were down to 3/32" around 10,000 miles. get some good brake pads the stock pads are junk!
see ya!
My stock RSA's have more around 96000km which around 60k miles. They will need replacement soon though, i'm gonna pick up a new set on tirerack.com for 88$US each, compared 291$ CAD/each at the dealership!!!!!!! This is going to happen just before next winter!
i had 58k on my stock RSA's. sold them to a friend cuz i got a nail in one and didn't feel like dealing with ANOTHER patch (had 4 in the tire already). he's not put 30k on them and is finally looking for a new set.
my stock pads/rotors went fast. my father in law works at a auto shop and got me my new pads/rotors at cost. they're really good but i couldn't tell you who made 'em.
GO PATS!!!
Bleach!
Pull on the e-break, pour some bleach over the tires, floor it and watch em wear out...
makes some perrrty white clouds too.
