They work just fine, but park in the up position. Any ideas?
Thanks

What about my windshield wiper problem...All of a sudden..Only my drivers'
side wiper works but the passenger side stopped...?
The motor itself is probably fine... You'll need a wiper "transmission".
Ive heard it called that a few times- I don't know if thats the technical name- But its the part that the motor bolts to- with the arms & everything attached.
My Buddie had the prob with the wipers staying in the up position (97 s/f GT)....he said he had the timing reset on the motor by the dealership...cost under $20 bucks.
I think there was a recall on it too....not really sure
If I remember correctly it wasn't the motor but actually the park sensor for the wipers. Thus the wipers didn't know that they were stopping in the right place. Went to the dealer and had it taken care of don't remember for sure but I think it cost me about $150. I don't think there was a recall but maybe a service bulletin.
Just finished repairing my Granddaughters wipers. They always reset in the vertical position. Being a retired mechanic by trade I felt it was if it was a half cycle out but how?
I took the assembly out (3 screws) and unplugged the electrical. To make it short I'll say that the motor has a taper shaft and the wiper motor crank assembly is held to that with a 1/4" bolt. It depends on the tightness to stay in place because there is no spline or keyway to hold it.
I loosened the bolt, plugged in the electrical and let the motor go into the park position. Reset the position of the crank assembly and tightened the bolt. If you want more e-mail me
Park switch is inside the wiper motor..Need a new wiper motor..Call the local wrecker for a used one
