Hi guys!! I've searched around for help with my problem, it seems i'm not the only one with this problem, but haven't read a definate fix.
I have an '03 cavy 2.2 eco, I went to defrost my widshield and the blend control wont switch to defrost. it just blows out of the vents. It seems like maybe a cable is loose or broke, when i turn the knob to the right it just pops back over to the vents.
Do i need to replace the whole controll head? I sell GM parts and the controll is not cheap. Just wondering if there was an alternate fix before wasting my money.
Lemmie know if anyone has a fix or answer for this!

Try a junkyard. Why waste $200 when you can get one for $20.

No you don't need to replace the whole control!!! There should be a damn recall for this. It happened to my '03. Luckily I had it fixed under warranty. This is what MyMLink .com said:

INSTALL FOAM ON HVAC MODE VALVE,

Which doesn't tell me shat, but I know that they didn't replace the entire control. I thought that there was a pinched wire/cable or something and then they moved some foam. Hope that this helps.
