I posted a few weeks ago about my car which seems to shake on the highway and road speeds.
My car seems to move side to side, as if you were quickly, but slightly turning the wheel left and right.............or the way ti feels to be stuck behind a truck and caught in the wind coming off it.
The car has been to the mechanic 3 times, the front end was checked, tired balanced etc. for this, they couldnt find anything. Last tiem they rotated the tires and that made it better for about 2 days, then it went back to shaking.
Does anyone have any idea what this could be ? Keep in mind that I did run over a small log, jsut before all this started.

2 things come to mind ...
1) rim and or time out of round.
2) wheel bearing play.
I had the same problem with my first cavalier. It kept feeling like it was swaying or moving right and left, so i took it in and what had happend was, one of the bolts on th A arm had snapped
check ur lug nuts i had a friend that wrecked her civic cuz hte wheel fell off and was doing that exact thing. Just check um mite not be it but wouldnt hurt to check and make sure there TQ downed to spex

If you ran over a small log just before it all started you MUST have damaged/misaligned/altered something!
As has been suggested:-
1. Check you A frame Bolts. Torque them up correctly to make sure none have sheared and the head just looks as though it's good.
2.Check Torque the lug nuts to their correct figure.
3. I think Vinay Mal meant "Rim and or TIRE out of round"
4.Take it to another shop who CAN fix the problem.
Whatever you do, please be careful until you find the correct solution.

if the wheel shakes when driving, my guess would be a bent rim. mine did that on my old rims, cuz one was bent a lil bit.

Alignment? Brakes?
Are these stock wheels and tires? Or aftermarket? My aftermarket wheels are wider than stock and seem to "wobble" as I drive because of the grooves in the road from all the other vehicles out there wearing the road down. On newer roads, it's fine.

When mine did it, it was my upper strut mounts. Almost felt like I had 4 wheel steering.

could also be bad tires....
When I accelerate my car pulls to the left, and the steering wheel goes to the right, when I decelerate, the car straightens out. Wheels go back and the steering wheel goes back aswell. Is that what you car is doing? Definately check your a-arms to see if they are bolted to the engine chassis properly. Thats what my issue is. IDK what I am gonna do about it, I replaced the mounts with polyurethane and they still do it. You can actually yank on them and they move around real easy yet the bolts are tightened down hardcore. I think the metal bolt holes in the a-arms are ovular instead of round... Anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

classic case of torque steer, have alignment checked, and check all front end parts (ball joins, tie rods inner and outter, wheel bearings, strut mounts, control arm bushings, etc...) and make sure tire pressures are good
as for narco, have your alignment checked, if ur current machanic has checked it 3 times, i'd say have another garage check it. and i still think ur tires in the front are bad. if ur tires being swtiched helped it, it means the tires on it have been @!#$ up from the problem
