Today I hopped on the express way, got up to speed and then my car just shut down and would not restart. Judging by the noise it was making just prior to this, I think my water pump failed. I assume this because my car made the same noise less than a year ago, and the shop replaced the water pump because they said it was leaking and the noise stopped. So my problem is, in less than 1 year and 12k miles I've had 2 waterpumps blow. Any ideas here? I have the 2000 2.4L and run fully synethic oil. I'm wondering if maybe the pump isn't getting proper lube because of the synethic oil or something since it's driven by the timing chain. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
