So my girlfriend's car keeps stalling and having hot start problems. I checked the ignition, and there's spark at all four cylinders, and the plugs are in good shape. THe wires are new, I thought there may have been a crosstalk problem. Checked the fuel, flushed the system, changed the filter, checked the pump, injectors, regulator, everything. I wondered if the diaphram in the regulator went out, so I replaced it and still no help. I've checked relays, switches, wires, anything I could think of, and I'm at a total loss. It's a 2.2, 5spd. Once it's running, it usually runs fine, but starting it can be next to impossible when the engine is warm. She said it stalls on her but I haven't been able to see it when I drive the car, so I don't know what else t olook for.
"Silly cluth, glazing is for donuts!"
check compression and egr operation maybe??
Check the o2 sensor. Mine was crimped, hanging on by 1 strand of wire and it would stall randomly.
i had a similar problem on my old 91 2.2 cav. Check the ignition module. that sounds like what mine was doing when it was going bad.
how long since the timing chain was replaced??? it may be worn out and that far out of time.
