I have a 2003 Cavalier Base model. Anybody know if the odometer reading is stored in the cluster or in the ECU. I need to replace my cluster its buggin the f**k out.. I called a few local dealers and never got a straight answer. Some say in the cluster, others say it could be either or. Haynes doesnt say anything either.. just says how to replace it.

95-99 i believe was the cluster, 00+ was the bcm.

Ight thats guys.. I order me a 2003 cluster... Hopefully the install goes smooth.. I'll let you know..

00+ it's in the BCM

I replaced the speedo in my 01 cavy 3 times, and once in my 04 Sunfire, and the milage (even the trip) carried over each time

Just to confirm for those who migh use the search button. It is stored inthe BCM ... my trip was wrong but no big deal. Pretty easy to install took about 30 minutes.
