Hey guys gals I have a leaky injector #1 cyl its bottom feed 2.2l its not cracked so im guesing its the o rings worn out. Can I replace this on my own? my book says something about checking fuel pressure to make sure injector is seated correctly.
can you just pop it out replace or ings and pop it back in?
Yes, it is just that easy. Here's what you do. Remove your throttle cable, disconect your battery. Then you will need a star bit I dont know the size. There will be 1 screw holding on the pressure regulator and 2 holding on to the hold down for the injectors. Remove those and pull out the regulator and the hold down. Then unplug the injector and lift it out. Super simple maybe an hour or two total time. One thing to keep in mind, when you go to put the injector back in make sure the black thing towards the top is fully pushed up or it will leak. Go to AutoZone and look at a new one to see what I am talking about. Unfortunaly I've done this job 3 times now. Good luck. Oh yea- FYI Gas is flammable...Make sure your motor is completly cool first...Cough Cough DONT ASK!

What makes you think I'm crazy?
if you lose an injector o-ring or forget one you can fill the cylinder with fuel and hydro lock the motor
yes hydro lock did that once injector wasnt seated properly. but if that happens you can tack out spark plugs and rotate engine manually right and pistons will pump gas out and leave a good mess to clean up. ill try it and let you guys know how it went.
Thanks for the help.
