screeching noise in driver front wheel

ok, i ran a few searches already, "turn", "noise", "left"etc. and came up with no results that came close. just today when i was driving, i made a left turn at a T-intersection when i hear a screeching noise like metal being grinded together(either w/or without use of braking). the more i turned into the left turn the more i heard it. i checked around the area of the tire and such, nothing wrong, nothing feels loose, or no leaks from my power steering. my assumption would be new brakes, bearings, steering shaft, or cv joint? i asked my mechanic a few weeks ago when i had my trans fluid changed if my axles are OK and he said its fine. anybody might have know then whats wrong or whats this noise? thanks everyone in advance.

Cv axle is shot. You need to have it replaced.

try your wheel bearing. mine is doing it too. only when i turn right though. not saying that he is wrong but doesnt a cv shaft pop when you turn if it is bad?

thx guys im planning on calling my mechanic about it. i did take out the front driver side tire and it seemed that my brake pad is worn down. like the metal flap is almost touching the rotor, so that might be the case. i'll also ask the mechanic to double check the cv shaft.

Probably just the brakes, BigO gives free brake inspections.

to find out if its your wheel bearing

jack up the car so the wheel your testing is off the ground. shake the wheel and if it wobbles it needs a new bearing.....if it doesnt move then its ok

if it is your brakes then it will cause the noise when the squealer hits the rotor
