hey guys. so i just bought a 98 2 door 5 speed cav. the only concern i have is when i accelerate or gear down, it makes like a whining noise that sounds almost like a jet engine or something. i mean, i can live with it, but everyone stares at me and it would be nice to fix, im not sure if its the tranny or what. . could someone help me figure out what it is, how to fix it, and how much it would cost? thanks for your time.

haha nope. its just this crazy sound. almost all jbodies have it but you can barely notice. mines just really really loud.
mine does it at night alot. it does it when you hit the gas it will whine. if the radio is on you cant hear it that much but if its off you can hear it . my friends like to say i have a supercharger as a joke of the sound.
Find out where the sound is coming from. Mine sounds like a turbo but its my power steering pump...
