I got an 03 cav with ecotec/5speed. 100% stock.... no AC .... 20,000kms.

I filled up at the same place as i always do.....drove the sameway i always do.... no check engine light....acceleration feels normal... everything FEELS 100% NORMAL. I am watching my gas gauge drop as i drive. I got 160kms on this tank of gas, and i am already at the 1/2 way mark. I have never seen a car drink so much fuel before!

any ideas what might be wrong? I wanna be able to gather some ideas...so that i can make some suggestions to the service department if they cant find anything wrong.

a leak? bad gauge, maybe a leak in a line somewhere so it only leaks when pumping gas, bad fuel pump. the list can go on and on.

You may want to go to the dealer and have all of your sensors checked. I know that a failing oxygen sensor can cause it to suck gas. Ecotecs have a known issue with O2 sensors anyway. Just because your light is not on, don't mean there is not a problem with your sensors. Just my 2 cents.
