are there any special steps you have to do?? i have to change the gasket tomorrow but i figure @!#$ it ill change the pump while im there there not that expensive.... and it looks like you only have to pull the alt and alt bracket to get to it anyone done this before??

I did it in about 20 minutes. The best way to do it is like you said but drain the antifreeze first. Drop the alternator and the bracket and i cant remember how many bolts it was. I got my pump for $18 with lifetime warranty. So it was a sweet deal.
i think my 01 2.2's water pump is leaking, bbut i was wondering do you need a new gasket for this job or can you use that blue rtv gasket stuff? and should i replace the belt while im at it?
gaskets always work better/ longer than rtv, plus you don't have to wait for it to dry...you can replace the belt if you want... not like it is that hard if there is verry little wear on it, if you see any fraying, or many cracs along the inside, then go for it....
