Hi. I'm new here, and don't know much about car repair (This Pontiac Sunbird (1988) is my first car. It broke down on me about a week ago, not exactly sure why. My dad is a pretty good mechanic so I called him about it., and he told me to test the starter, as I have already tried jumping/charging the battery. (I'm not even sure if this is the problem, but why not start with the "simple" stuff first). I have been looking for the starter (I read about it and saw some diagrams but not any on my specific engine) and cannot seem to find it. I know its general location, but there are so many valves and hoses around the thing I can't even see it. Since I am a beginner, I'm kinda scared to remove these things without some help. I've tried looking under the car, but still can't find the thing (not using a jack). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Oh yeah, engine is a 2.0 OHC, not sure if that will make a difference itn its location or not.
its under the intake near the trans
