200k Check up

Well I will be coming up on 200k soon and was just wondering what I should check for problems? For instance, maybe a seal that should be replaced or a mechanical part? I've never owned a vehicle with this many miles before and I just dont need the car breaking down on me later on. I have already planned on replacing the struts and springs because I think the are the originals, I replaced spark plugs, plug boots, and air filter about 3k along with the trans. fluid. I am getting an oil change done tomorrow (which kind is the best for this high mileage?) I was gonna have them put in Valvoline MaxLife.

Basically I just want to know what usually goes out on the cars with this many miles.

Thanks for the help in advance.

Wow dude, congrats on keeping the car in running condition. Honestly, I don't think most cars on here will live that long, but anyways, be sure to change the engine coolant, check tire pressure, rotate tires, oil change, you know........the basics. Think about a fuel filter, water pump and those other miscellaneous items as well.b

Thanks for all the cheers! Even with all these miles she still purrs like brand new. I am the 2nd owner and it was purchased with 180k on it so either its was well taken care of or it has had some engine work already done. But it doesnt consume any oil and no leaks so that must be a good sign.

Should I have the timing chain done? How long are they suppose to last? I will look into getting the water pump and fuel filter done.

change all the fuilds. including the brake and clutch fuild (if applicable) check all your hoses, check all brake lines and fuel lines, give the gas tank a look, check for oil leakage/sepage, look and inspection suspension for breaking, damage, etc.

thats all i can think of really besides the usual oil change, fuel filter, air filter, pcv vavle etc.

good luck on the next 200k.
