My motor is knocking at idle and gets faster when reving. Oil has some shavings in it. I pulled the injector wires one at a time and the noise goes away when i pull the #3 injector. Just pulled the rod caps and bearings dont look to be worn out. Motor has 45000 miles but i race the car on a dirt oval.
How bad of a knock are we talking about? These motors are pretty noisy. Have you checked the timing chain to make sure the tensioner isn't bad? A loose chain can make a LOT of noise.
