I have a 02 cavalier with the 2.2L ohv. The original engine had 150k miles and the rings were shot. I had another 2.2 from a previous cavalier that had only 52k so i did a motor swap. The new motor has been sitting for 5 years since it last ran. We got the motor in and EVERYTHING is hooked up i triple checked everything. This isnt my first engine swap. The engine cranks fine, It is sparking. I dont think that it is injecting the fuel into the engine. After cranking for a while the plugs don't smell like fuel. I don't know if they should. This the first problem-matic engine swap tho. My big question at the moment is can injectors go bad after sitting for 5 years.
Also: The ecu with the new motor was with the swap but my theft system light was on and not going off. i put the old ecu back on and the light goes off. But i don't know if that can be a problem either.
Im sorry for the long post but ive worked for 2 days on this swap and now im without a car so im looking for any help at all. thank you
Nevermind it is running good again. The injectors were bad. I put the old ones in and she fired right up.
