ok so my brother bought a 96 sunfire with a 2.4 and it had a blowed engine he put a new one in it and it smoked really bad so he went and bought another engine but the theft light is on its not blinking its just on and i didnt know if that would cause the car not to fire and if it did how do i remove it to where the car will start? thanks

Try letting the car "relearn" i usually do mine by after shutting the car off leave it in the on position for 10 mins then turn to off and try and restart the car.....this usually works with my car when the theft light is on

theft light being on with the key is normal operation. the only time the anti theft will stop a car from starting is when it's flashing. the flashing is telling you that it is interrupting the fuel because the anti theft circuit is active.
