I jiggled the vent control switch, turned it left and right through all selections plus off, and the motor finally turned off. I changed the resistor and the blower motor. The blower still takes a minute or so to turn on where as before it would take about ten minutes or so. What could cause this?
it could be because you dont have your profile filled out and no body knows what year make or model you are talking about...its the forum gods pissing you off.
Jim, Make sure your ground connections are good on your block. They are under the intake manifold, on the batter side of the car, bolted to a bell housing bolt I think. If they are tight, and they probably are since you haven't mentioned any other problems, the blower switch, or the wiring in between could be bad.

It was the blower motor relay in the fusebox under the hood. Thanks for the help.
