Won't start
Sunday, December 20, 2009 4:42 PM
I recently got my '03 Cav. back from the shop. It's got a 2.2L Ecotec, with a Hahn turbo kit but it had an issue with the wrong program on the F.A.S.T. ECU. The shop that was doing the work dealt with F.A.S.T. and got the right programming on the computer, along with a new wiring diagram. The shop re-wired the computer to the new diagram and finished installing the piping for the turbo, but the car won't start. The shop says they have no idea what's wrong, that the computer is wired correctly and everything, and the engine will crank but won't start up, almost like it's getting no fire or fuel. Any Ideas?

"almost like it's getting no fire or fuel. Any Ideas?"

So which is it, no fuel or no spark.

Theft light on steady during cranking?

Sorry for the delayed response.

The theft light isn't on at all during cranking.

To expand on my last post:
When the key is turned ON the Service, E-Brake (brake was engaged), Oil, Battery, Low Water, and Check Engine lights were on
When cranking, only the Check Engine light stays on

Update:

Unable to figure out why it won't start, and there aren't any mechanics around here that know anything but V8's, so unless god drops instructions in my lap on how to fix it we're just gonna remove the turbo and put it back stock.

This thread is deletable

M3ch if yours does that, refuses to start unless the gas is to the floor wouldn't that be something messed up in the fuel injection or something because with fuel injected cars i always thought you were never supposed to use the gas when starting the car.

yeah your not suposta, thats what i was thinkin, i used seafoam and it ran a little better, i got a check engine light but no OBD2 so i cant tell, i might havta call my friends dad up, he might have a OBD2, i never had this prob with my blazer, but then again i love my blazer a little more =)

yeah not sure what the deal with our Blazer was, but it was an awesome little truck for sure had the monster 4.3 Vortec V6 man did that engine have the power. Days you could hear that thing roar for a good city block, but it drank the gas but even with that having been said i sure do miss it about now wouldn't mind having another one. Except ours was a two tone blue and a really light tan, and after it got past 150,000 miles or more the paint started peeling really bad and you could see the primer underneath but we loved it. Best part is it was 4 wheel drive.

off topic, but yeah mines white, 4x4 it was getting 25 on high, 18 low, i avrgd about 23 in it (mpg) at 65, i seafoamed mine and the exhaust sounds much better, the 4.3 is a huge engine, hit 100 then the gov kicked in sent me back to 95, but getting back on topic, a new engine would be a good idea for now, unless you wanna run the hell outta it
