Hey guys i could really use your help. I have a 97 Cavalier 2.2L wit 80,000. When you drive past 65 and come to a stop the oil lights comes on but once you give gas it goes away. it only comes on at a idle but only when you have driven past 65 so mainly after a freeway drive. i have replaced the oil pressure sensor twice and not sure if it needs replaced again or if you guy have any advice.
Check the level. Stop replacing the sensor and start looking into a new oil pump if adding doesnt help, or you could try using a thicker oil.
the oil level is fine! and i took it inn to get the oil pressure tested and it came out ok. so gm said the oil pump is good. so im at a loss now. when i took it in to get the pressure tested it stoped doing it. now its doing it again almost a year later.
oil level scensor? i will have to look into that..... and as far as the pump goes i guess i will have to take it inn again to get it tested. i dont know what else to do
if it's the oil "can" light you need to check your oil pressure sensor.
