low idle sputter

I know there has been many post's on this, but here is my individual problem. When I am at idle, sometimes the idle will drop to what looks like 300 rpm's to where it almost stalls, and sometimes on take off it sputters until like 2500 rpm. Do I have a spark plug, plug wire and coil pack issue like everyone else? I might take it to a shop to see what code is being thrown, because the check engine light is coming on.

Well, I took my car to advance to see what it was, they said the codes were for the 02 sensors. But that wouldnt cause this problem would it? I am thinking I am going to change the spark plugs come monday, should I replace the wires and coil as well while I am already at it?

um, just to state the obvious..you have a code for bad 02 sensors..so change the o2 sensor...there are several differnt codes an o2 can throw by the way..which was it? low signal?heater?short to ground? we need more info.....and YES a bad o2 CAN cause that kind of problem..but DO NOT..i repeat DO NOT buy one from auto zone..get an ac delco ONLY sensor..or your problem will never be fixed

yeah, I have heard bad things about the bosh sensors. They just told me that bank 1 was out. And they said it is a good idea to go ahead and replace both while I am at it.But thanks for letting me know about the sputter and the o2 sensor complying with one another. I will probably replace them monday. Is there any special tool I need to replace them? Or will simple hand tools do the trick?
