i had the upper rad hose go it had a hole in it i replaced it and the thermostat, started the car let the air out of the system.
but now the temp gauge wont go past 50 l(in between half and cold)(the quarter line)
but the air blowing out is hot and reasons?? all help is much appericated
the car is a 2001 sunfire 2.2L
Air blowing out where? The coolant system bleeder? Engines run hot, even at the bottom of the gauge the coolant temperature would feel hot with the motor running, although I don't know the exact range of the gauge. It could be that your new thermostat is rated for a bit cooler then the old one was, or needs a bit of a break-in period, have you taken it on any long drives since you replaced it?
when i turn on my heat in the car its still hot. yes i've take it on long drive but the temp gauge still never goes past the first quarter line.
thermostat is rated at 195
i had a problem with a thermostat from autozone where it stuck open and i gradually lost heat as i drove at highway speed. i replaced it with one from napa and it did the trick.
