Hi, today i change my turn signals flasher, cause the one that was in the car daesnt work, when i put the new flasher and test the turn lights, the flasher went hot, and i just test the lights for a few seconds, is that normal? is normal to the fasher to get that hot??
and another thing , is that my hazard lights blinks really fast, it may be the new flasher?? is some alternative brand, that y bought.

so should i leave it getting warm like it is right now?? or it may be dangerous, maybe can cause a fire??

help me please.

thanks

The turn signal/flasher fuse will get warm but HOT not unless u may have a corroded or poor bulb socket. I would visually check all four sockets to see if they have these indications, melted plastic, wiring melted looking from being too hot, terminals inside where bulb goes discolored or distorted in appearance.Gm is super cheap on electrical products and a bad socket for the bulb making poor contact will cause the wiring to get abnormally hot(typical for gm) and u will need to replace that bulb socket or all which ever is the case.I have had to replace both rear tail light bulb holders on my mom n laws malibu for this exact reason(being blown bulbs alot, getting HOT all the time and or not working) Just check the sockets for premature wear and this should fix the issue unless I am unaware of another issue.Hope this helps and may others correct or add to this.
