Vibrating in front end?? I've checked everything also.

I got a 99 sunfire with the 2,2 4 speed auto. The car is lowered with pro sport springs on 17's. It has new rotors, drums, brakes, front wheel bearings, cv-axles both sides, Inner and outer tied rods, New 235-45-r17 tires, top motor mount, and bottom wishbone mount. . Ok for some reason its always had a vibration on the right side started out you couldn't go over 65 with out the dash feeling like it was going to fall apart. So i changed all of the above cept for tires and it would start vibrating about 85 90. So i put the 17's on along with new tires and balanced. And it still did it and got worse as time went by. Well the wheel bearing on the right went bad agian. Put a new one in and went back to normal starting to vibrate at 85 90 agian. Well i gave up on it then out of no where one day started virbrating the steering wheel about 65. Well i tore it apart agian and everything was tight, Well after about two weeks like that it started getting out of line and being all over the road going straight, riding rough as hell, and swaying sort of pushing it into turns. So i baught ball joints because when you would brake it would pull the steering wheel to the right but would go straight and also putting around in it there stearing wheel would be to the right. Now if you go on it the steering wheel would go straight. So jacked it up to put the ball joints and what do you know both were tight. So i took it into get an alignment thursday of last week. They checked everything and said it was fine that nothing was loose. It drove fine into to turns with a lil play in the front end and didn't vibrate till 80. Well today it is back out of line and all over the place. The only thing i could find that had play in the front end was where the cv axles hooked in the tranny. The left one has about a 1/8 in to 1/16 inch of play and the right one has about a 1/4 in of play where the stub shaft is. But they were like that when i put the axles in. It isn't the output shafts on the tranny moving it is actually the axles on the splines. Sorry for the long post but this is real annoying and i don't know what to do since its unsafe to drive on the interstate. thanks for any help

Also when i had it put in line back last summer the had to put a camber kit on the left side with the bolt in the top hole. Which it seems and looks like it sets lower on left side with the tire sticking out futher. It's not the wheels either because i switched the front wheels back and forth and stil sticks out. When i had it put in line this time they told me that it's suppose to have two bolts in it but it was at -.02 on the camber with and was in the green. They said that they couldn't understand why the tire would stick out but when you put the bolt to normal the bottom of the wheel sticks out and rides on inside and when you turn the bolt all the way it kind of moves the whole wheel out some but mainly the top. Also my motor moves a @!#$ load for some reason i can open the hood and grab ahold of the motor and push very little and get it moving. The only mounts that aren't new is the tranny and also i never put the ball joints in yet.

did you ever wreck the front end?
im thinking the subframe might be bent? thats the only thing i can think of that would make your tire "stick out"

so tell me where you can legally go that fast in the US and I'll give you some insight into your problem

nope it's never been wrecked i stuck it on the frame machine at work. The tire didn't stick out till the stuck a camber kit on the left side. I played with the camber bolt the put in black last summer after i had it put in line and as you actually turn the bottom being it only has one and is in the top bolt hole on the strut. It moves the top of tire out along with the moving the whole tire out lil by lil. It isn't vibrating there no more it starts at about 60 65 now. Vibrates worse at about 65 70 where you can't keep it staight going down the road and the whole dash vibrates so bad you could make a milkshake on it. I don't drive that fast when i got the vibratition the first time and started replacing things i would see when if at all it would vibrate still. So when i replaced everything and would vibrate at around 90 and couldn't find anything else wrong and neither could the shops i gave up since i don't drive that fast, but now like i said you can't hardly go 55 60 with out vibrating and coming futher out of line. And even taking turns at the rate speed its all over the place. So it's not that i want to go that fast but i want to atleast be able to do the speed limit on the interstate.

Sorry just realized that i mispelled alot of stuff. Any way i just put the ball joints and and now i'm getting a popping noise in the right side wheel. And i double checked everything and it's not anything lose bolt wise. Could it be my upper strut mounts some how? Then i'm leaning towards one of the inner tie rod ends being loose on the rack because when setting in the car now turning the steering wheel back and forth with the play it pops. Also now since i put the ball joints in you can being dead sirious feel the right tire move. When i gun it it will go to the left and when i let off it jerks real hard to the right. The motor is also thumping back and forth but the bushings are fine on the mounts and a-arms.

and you NEVER speed.....you can do that at the track so bugger off.

maybe the strut mount is to blame for the tire being able to stick out. i think they would hae to eb really bad for it cause you to pull hard to one side. i would try taking it to a different shop.....get a second opinion.

ok i get the point about speeding. like i said before it was only to see if it still vibrated and when. I went to drop the whole clip to see what was going on. So i popped the hood and leaned agian the car and noticed that the strut mounts are bad. The metal ring with the strut shaft goes up through and then has the nut moves up and down and side to side. On both sides. The mount and struts (kongi yellows) came of a 96 but never paid attention to the old mounts if they were different. So my ? is now is the mounts rebuildable or do you have to get the whole mount. I remeber reading someone was making them on here so which ones are better for my case? thanks
