quick question, i got a 98 Z24 Cav 2.4L and was wondering how you know when the fuel pump goes out

when you turn the key to the "on" position and you dont hear the pump turn on. but that could also mean a fuse or a fuel pump relay.

if the the pump gets louder when turned to the "on" position. if it starts guggurling when in "on" position it will die within a few minuts, i found out the hard miles away from home in the middle of a snow storm.

You may find the car won't start sometimes as well. Just has that problem with my mums Cavalier. Got to the point where it wouldn't start at all but then occasionally it would. I've also had that happen to a buddy of mine on his mustang it would start but then stall and again got to the point where it wouldn't start at all.

Your car acts super gay. Loss of power, fuel gauge goes nuts. Takes a while to start. Only works in 1st and 4th gear (in my case). That's how you know.
