I'm looking at a 1995 sunfire GT with 100k miles,it's a 5 spd.1300 bucks.Seems like a decent deal,just needs a new water pump.
I have a wrecked 1999 2.2 auto in my driveway. Will the water pump from that work.

Changing the water pump on a Quad 4 is a major ordeal. You have to take apart the timing chain housing and everything else around it to get it out. I wouldn't pay more than $500 for a 95 that needs one... it's a good 8-10 hours work... longer if you've never done one before.
I knew it was to goo to be true. Thanks

ina the setup is a little different. everything from 97 down is smaller. trust me ive tried
it might also need a new head gasket if they kept driving it with no water pump.
you know what? they probably did let it overheat too much so they're only telling you part of what needs to be replaced

back in 2001, my mom had a 2.2 cavalier and the water pump went out.
well...she thought she could make it home by adding water but she blew the head gasket because the gallon of water did not last very long lol **bless her heart
who knows dude...
I would not buy that car for no more than 500.00 dollars; like John said. too much work!!
