Random warning lights

I have a 01 Z 5 speed:

The only known problem with is the transmission is about to go. Long story, read my post in the transmission forum if you want to.

What happens is my theft and service light come on at random times. They stay on until I turn off the car, only once were they on again when I started it, but that was only about a 10 min rest. Driving feel / behavior doesn't change, no sounds nothing. Its weird but I could live with it. But about 5 min after those lights turn on yesterday my check gauges light came on along with my airbag light. And my gas gauge viably dropped steadily for about 1/2 a tank then the gauges light went off and the gauge went back to full, where it should have been, elapsed time was about 3 min. Again no change in engine sound, running, anything i could notice. It happened again to day on my way home from work, but no check gauges light, just the theft, airbag, and service lights. Airbag blinked on and off for about 1 min. And all my gauges went dead, like the car was off, a few times but only when I was at a stop or slowing down to a stop light the last 10 min before I got home.

The only interior mods I have are gauge overlays, but they have been in with no problems for 2+ years. Oh, but they have been flickering, dimming and brightening, randomly the last few months. Just the overlays, the needles don't flash which to me means its the overlays and not the whole cluster are flashing.

Any ideas? Sorry for the long read, but its kinda complicated.

Replace your cluster is where i would start. $20-$30 at a junkyard.

Thats what I was thinking. I want to get the black cat gauge cluster anyway, guess its a good time. So you think its the cluster, and not something else?

Could be the alternator not working properly mostly at low rpm.

Stereo and engine don't change. Alt is about a year old. I can check that at work on sat.
