ok i pretty much know what this may be but i was going to get some more opinions from you guys. ok i was changing my oil yesterday and i noticed i was leaking something from the motor. it was coming from what i could see was the bottom of the exhaust manafold from the left. (under the car point of view) i assume it was cooilent but hope not any ideas. if you need more info ask thanks in advance.

sorry to say if its coolent its on its last leg take it in to get it fixed or get new motor depends on the severty. I bought a 95 2.2 cavy and the head gasket was replaced 3 times prior to purchase last time was a cheap fix it locked the motor up.
Looking at your profile, states engine is a 2.4L. Take a close look under there. Water pump is on the right(passenger side) under exhaust manifold. It is driven off the camshaft timing chain. Tough to see it from the top. From underneth you will notice what they call a weep hole. That is an exit when the impellar shaft seal starts to leak.
Mine starting slightly leaking, then progressively got worse. I had to change it.
if it's the passenger side, yes, it's the pump.
if it's the driver side, it's the outlet piece that sits under power steering pump, or possibly the heater core hoses. get the car to operating temp. take the intake mani off, and look from the top to find the leak.

so i should change my water pump. yeah i got under there and i noticed that the water pump is to the right (passenger side) but the leak looks like it is coming from the left side of the exhaust manafold. but if it was a gasket problem i would most likely be blowing smoke out of the tail pipe. oh by the way if it is the water pump, boy am i going to have fun installing it. just in opinion i should just go ahead and buy the complete kit for the head gasket. i just hit 130,000 miles just the other day. sorry but another question will i have to pull the motor to replace all this crap. thanks for this advice helps alot guys

If it is leaking from the driver side, you have a plastic manifold as mentioned by the power steering pump. There is also a metal tube that goes around the back listed as the bleeder tube. Then you have heater hoses. Without seeing it,could be a head gasket, but think you may have cooling issue as side affects.
You really do not have to pull the engine to do the head gasket, water pump and or the others mentioned above.
The plastic piece (water neck or outlet) may have a crack and you´ll need to replace it but if it is ok you will have to replace the two o rings, one is big and thin and it is for the water neck the other small and thicker is for the metal tube.
well i looked at it last night again and it is coming from that outlet. have not pinpointed it yet but its coming from that. because there is coolent inside the hose wraping and it looks like one of the hoses is messed up where it plugs into the water neck. so ill fix that. but i got under the car just to make sure and there is no way it is coming from the head gasket. yeah what a relief. but anyway thanks again. and i hope if anybody else has this problem they can learn from this one. thanks again
