I have a 2003 Cavalier my passenger side window goes down fine but stops on the way up. Took to a dealership they said it was relay switch and my warranty would not cover that. I was just wondering will any year of a cavy or sunfire work and were are these relay switches located at and how do you test to see which one is bad. i plan ob buying one from a junkyard
How many miles on the car? If it's still under bumper-to-bumper warranty, find a new dealer.

I think the relays are in the switches themselfs, but I'm not sure. The switches on sunfires are in the center console, and on the doors in cavi's, so there different if I'm right about the relay thing. My car was doing that before the window motor went out.
Its not the relay, and the relay is not part of the switch.
Flip your switch, power is applied to the control side of the relay, it creates a magnetic field, closing the contatcs of the other side of the relay, thus sending power to your window motor.
Your motor is going bad no doubt.

I have 75,000 miles on the car i did buy the 5 year or 100,000 mile warranty. I bought from dealer A but i took it to dealer B and they said relay was not covered under warranty. 2 years ago i had driver side motor replace under warranty at dealer A and i think that whats wrong with passenger side but dealer B wants to make money off me. So i plan on taking back to dealer A were i bought to c if they will check the motor on the passenger side
