k so my problem is under a load it feels like something is pulling my car back, it just dont seem to have power near what it used to. it is an 04 cavy with almost 100k miles on it. some have suggested a plugged cat. i keep throwing a code for intake air temp too high also. it has thrown that bout 5 times in the last 35k miles. i didnt think much of it but now its getting a bit annoying. thanks
Well that may be your problem, the IAT sensor. The sensor reads the temp on the incoming air to justify the a/f mixture.
The fact that its putting out high voltage means the wiring on it is screwed or the sensor itself is!
hope it helps
now DIE!
right on, yeah the code just said the temp was too high....i got another cat for it so if that dont help ill look into the iat sensor thanks
If it thinks the IAT is high, it will think there is low air density and therefore not much oxygen. Then the computer will tell the injectors to use less fuel. This means you have less power, but you also are passing more unburnt oxygen out the exhaust. This can cause glowing hot exhaust, high temperatures (even fires or burnt wires in some cases), warped heads, and can cause a catalytic converter to burn out due to excessive temperature.
really? so could it cause a cat to plug and have power loss? i only have 97k on the car and i just replaced the cat due to severe power loss and a feeling of the car being pulled back, it so far seems to have solved the problem.....thanks
Any ideas on this as im having the same issue with my 03.
