Summer Maintenance (alot)

What's up everyone? Ok, so it's getting to be that time of the year when what your car looks and sounds like really matters, and that means I need to do some maintenance. 2.4L Z

(The problem checklist)

Entire car shudder while in park, idle, or whenever there is not any gas being feed to the car.

I need to inspect the spark plugs (they were properly gapped) and their wires. I am still using the same spark plug wires stock from when the car was produced and I am at 120k on it. The coil packs are fine (ran the OBII on them and no codes popped). If anyone has suggestions on this as well, it would be much appreciated. Unsealed gasket somewhere maybe? Vacuum leak in hosing?

The next problem is my brakes. I need to replace my ceramic brakes as the squeal indicator just kicked in and is really getting gay. I used Akebono Pro ACT ($60ish I think) last time, but does anyone have a suggestion for this time. They seemed to have wore out kinda fast. Also, I am looking to upgrade my brake lines, but am not really sure what brands are trustworthy.

Last problem is I need to swap my hosing. I have the stock hosing and would like to do some preventive maintenance on that. Silicon hosing...what are the prices and reliability of these. My friends 240sx ran like 150$ for one kit of hosing...?

Any help would be great! Thanks!

If youre car hasnt had a rescent tune up, It wouldnt hurt getting one done, Also new air filter or Clean the reuseable one, Fuel filter if is over do, Also some throttle body cleaner in youre throttle inatke to be cleaned out if needed, Well their is a big selection of brake pads you can pick out of, Ive been using Monroe front brake pads for 1 yr now, Then work extremely well, for my driving needs, Now if youre into faster drive rates of speed driving, I would recommend getting ceramic brake pads for heavy duty use, They got a really good compound in those pads.

Good Luck.

Just cleaned the air intake cone two weeks ago actually and ran a can of Seafoam in the Throttle body/gas/oil about a week ago. Thanks though Rich

I would be saying New plugs. Wouldn't hurt along with the fuel filter like mentioned. Not sure what else there would be. Right off the top of my head. Check battery terminals as well for corrosion. Automatics can have wierd things happen when a battery terminal is gunked up.

I was actually curious about that. As far as I understand, my model cavalier only has boots instead of wires? And I am taking the plugs out tonight to make sure they are gapped properly or not screwed up. I used the new AC Delcos that were stock and gapped them before installing them last summer, but still this rough idle is killing me. Could it also be the result of a gasket leak in the throttle body. It is only happening when there is no fuel being fed to the engine....
