Water Pump Seeping

Hey all, I just had my safety inspection done today. I was told as a heads up that my water pump was starting to seep and that it wasn't urgent, but wanted to let me know that it was a "BIG" job at least 5-6 hours later. I also checked with the dealer and the parts alone are at least $350. He said it could last 2 years to 2 months all depends. He also said just keep checking my coolant and making sure my fluids are good. I want to know what all your opinions are and what you all recommend to do?

Thanks

welp you have the 2.4 motor which is a pita to change. yes it literally is a 6 hour job and most of the cost is the labor since its so time consuming to get to.

I would get the pump replaced as soon as possible, engine damage can occur for inadequate cooling or coolant loss when the pump fails. If it is weeping out a hole in the side of the pump, i beleive this lets you know that the pumps bearring is worn and may seize.

i say change it asap....if you dont have the money try not to drive it, dont risk it....if it goes while your driving it could be a lot worse....

on the bottom of the pump which is located firewall passenger side of the block driven by the cams timing chain. You can see it from the bottom side of the car.

OK...I'll look again. I didn't see it the first time I looked so I wondered if it was facing up. Thanks.
