Sludge on pistons& fouled out plugs
Tuesday, April 24, 2007 7:36 PM
Okay so i havent been able to start my car for awhile. I thought my dad had checked my plugs but he didnt. so i pulled them out and their all fouled out. they had a bunch of @!#$ caked on the ends. so i looked in the cylinders with a flash light and theres alot of sludge in the cylinders.

can anyone tell me way there might be that much crap in there.

im gonna start pulling off the head to try to get to the bottom of it. but i figured i would ask while i was doing it.

much help appreciated.

thanks,
nick

I would pour one can of seafoam into the oil fill cap into the crankcase.Run it for awhile if u can get it running.I would do new plugs, wires and change the oil, filter. If u have build up it may be due to the oil breaking down and if there are significant miles on the engine I would run a full can of seafoam for 100 miles after u get it running and then change the oil again that helps break down the deposits built up inside the engine and u should be fine.A good tune up is a must plus cleaning the throttle body, new fuel filter even tho that may not b the issue can't hurt.If I left something off or I am incorrect may others correct or add to this.Good luck. that is where I would start at least.
